$100k in one day from Microsoft Excel
1. Teaching Microsoft Excel for $100,000/day
Kat Norton, aka “Miss Excel” on Instagram and TikTok has gained over 1.2 million followers between the two platforms. Kat shares tips, tricks, and how-to videos on using Microsoft Excel, and has turned her following in some serious cash.
Kat uses her Instagram and TikTok attention to drive customers to her online courses where she teaches people how to use Excel. This started out as a side hustle for Kat, but quickly grew into a 6-figure business within a few months. In a recent interview with The Verge, Kat says "I actually just had my first six-figure day a few weeks ago, which I was super excited about” 😳. Literally $100k+ in one day.
The craziest part? She’s a one-(Wo)man show. She has a virtual assistant that helps her with social media graphics, but other than that, it’s all her. I would estimate her monthly costs to be no more than $3,000. This leaves her with insanely high profit margins that would make any business owner jealous.

2. Start answering with “Why Not?”
I was recently at a bar with an old college friend, discussing a business I’m working on. He asked me “what makes you think you can do that?”. The question was in reference to saying that I was going to use a strategy that a bigger and more established brand used. After a brief pause, I answered with “Why not? Why can’t I do it?”.
With 2022 coming next week, and many people thinking about their goals or resolutions, this is a great time to ask yourself “why not?”. Why can’t you do something? What’s really stopping you? and why have other people been able to succeed at the things you want to?
Most of the time the things stopping you are just small obstacles or made-up excuses that you’re telling yourself. The only way to accomplish what you want is to make the decision you are going to do something no matter what roadblocks you run in to.
As Jordan Belfort says “The only thing standing between you and your goal is the bullsh*t story you keep telling yourself as to why you can't achieve it.”
2022 is the year to start executing.
3. Business Idea of the Week: Crypto Gaming Team
Start up cost: $500-$1,000
Crypto gaming has gained a ton of popularity during 2021. A major advantage that crypto gaming has brought to gamers is the idea of “play to earn”. This means that tokens earned from playing the game have real world value that you can sell for US Dollars. For example, if a you earn around 100 tokens playing a game every day, and each of those tokens be sold for 10 cents, you are earning $10/day just from playing a game.
In most cases, you will need to buy specific characters to play the games, so it’s not free to get started. One example of this is Axie Infinity, a crypto game where you need to purchase 3 Axie characters in order to play. Axie’s start around $70, and can go up to the high $1,000’s depending on the traits or powers they hold. Once you purchase 3 Axie’s, you can play the game and earn SLP token, which can be sold for real money.
So how do you make this into a business? Get players to play with the Axie characters that you buy, and take a split of the winnings each day. This is something known as a “scholarship” in the Axie Infinity community. Players in foreign countries are looking for a way to play the game and earn real money, but can’t afford the initial price of buying the characters. By letting a player use the Axie’s you’ve purchased, you can expect to make around 50% of the tokens they earn each day. This can then be scaled to multiple players, so you’re making 50% of the winnings for multiple players.
The toughest aspect of building this? The first obstacle you will need to overcome is learning the in’s and out’s of the game, and exactly how the game works. I would recommend playing the game for a week or two so you understand how everything works, before you find players to work for you. The second obstacle is finding reliable, hard working players. This is a lot like hiring employees, so make sure you create a process for interviewing and vetting these players.
