1. The Super Bowl Commercial that Broke the Internet
$14 million dollars. 60 seconds. And 1 QR code.Â
These are the basics of the Coinbase commercial that was aired during the super bowl. Watch it here.
Most companies go all out for their Super Bowl commercials by hiring A-list actors and spending huge production budgets. Not Coinbase though.Â
Coinbase aired a 60 second commercial with a color changing QR code bouncing across the screen, which led to the account sign up page on their website when scanned.Â
So what happened? 20 million people scanned the QR code, and the website crashed. Many people had the question: How could they let the website crash?Â
But I think the website crash added to this story. More people were tweeting and posting about the website crash, which led to more curiosity and sharing about the commercial.Â
So was is profitable for Coinbase? The Milk Road put together the estimated math below:Â
117M people watched
20% scan the QR code (the chief product officer said the page got 20M visits in 1 minute)
10% signupÂ
20% of them link their bank accountÂ
= ~500k new customersÂ
$45 revenue per user x 500,000 new users = $22.5MÂ â
That means Coinbase spent $14M to make roughly $22.5M.Â
Thatâs a win.
2. What are You Willing to Give Up for What You Want.
In life, youâll often need to give up one thing in the pursuit of another.
Want to lose weight? Give up that extra hour of sleep to get to the gym.
Want to put out more content? Give up an hour of your day to create content.
Want to spend more time with your family? Give up an activity that is keeping you from spending time with them.
Whenever you find yourself saying âI donât have time for thatâ rephrase it to: âI donât want to make time for thatâ.
You can always find time for something that is important to you, but sometimes you have to give up another thing.
So what are you willing to give up, to get what you want?

360 Photo Booths have become popular from red carpet events with celebs. But now you can buy the rigs that make them possible for a few thousand dollars.
The business idea: Create a 360 camera booth rental business that allows people to rent the booths for their events.
Steps to building this business:
Buy a 360 Photo Booth - Check them out here ($1,750 - $3,500)
Build a website and register the business as a local business on Google.
Run Google ads, and cold email event coordinators in your local area to get customers.
You can expect to charge between $500 - $1,000 for a 3-4 hour event, depending on what features you will include in each package.
This means it should only take 2-4 events to get your initial investment back.
You can also start out running this business all by yourself or bring on part-time employees to man the events.
