1. Business idea of the Week: Done-For-You Turkey Frying
Looking for a quick side hustle to make a few hundred bucks this week?
Look no further.
With Thanksgiving coming up, over 46 Million Turkeys will be cooked and eaten this week and a large percentage of those Turkeys will be fried.
But frying a Turkey requires a proper turkey fryer, a lot of oil, and a safe area to use the fryer. It’s estimated that fire departments respond to over 1,000 calls every year due to turkey fryer related fires because people don’t have a proper set-up, or don’t know what they’re doing.
So let’s help some people cook their turkeys this Thanksgiving, and make some money in the process.
The idea: A done-for-you turkey frying service.
This is a very simple idea that gives you an opportunity to make a few hundred (or thousand) dollars for a days work.
Let’s walk through how to get started in 3 simple steps:
Get your materials & learn how to fry a turkey.
First you’ll need a turkey fryer like this one for $120 on Amazon. You’ll also need peanut oil, like this 3 gallon container for $50 at Walmart. Let’s call it $200 all in for materials.
You’ll also need to learn how to fry a turkey. Check out this video for a full walkthrough:
Find your customers.
As always, this is the most important part of this side hustle. This is a local business, so we need to get this service in front of everyone in your area that will be cooking a turkey this Thanksgiving. Here’s 4 things we can do for marketing.
Craigslist posts
Facebook posts
Flyers at grocery store bulletin boards
Yard signs.
Pricing and fulfillment.
Let’s talk about pricing. Your customers will be buying their own turkeys and dropping them off to you, so you’ll only charge for your frying service. You can charge around $50 for your frying service, which means you’ll just need 4 customers to cover your upfront costs ($200), and with 10 customers, you’ll profit roughly $300 for a few hours of work.
And that’s a wrap.

3. The Stats Behind a 1 Million View TikTok Video
This week I had a video hit 1 million views on TikTok. It wasn’t a video of me, but I still think its cool. 😁
It’s a video about the collapse of FTX, so it’s relevant to current events.
Here’s how it all happened:
I posted the video video on Wednesday Nov. 16th, and in the first few hours the video only got around 80 views.
But when I woke up the next day, the video was at roughly 80,000 views.
From there is caught fire, and started getting about 1,000 views every minute.
On November 18th, the video crossed 1 million views, with 55.1K likes, 932 comments, 3308 saves, adding +950 followers.
Fast forward to the time I’m posting this, and the video is now sitting at 1.2 million views, with 64K likes, 1,041 comments, 3933 saves, adding a total of +1,136 followers.
So what does this do for me?
Pretty much nothing. 😂
But I think its cool!
