🧠 A Wooden Pallet Flipping Side Hustle
Alternative Investment ideas & My Conversation with Elon Musk
1. Business idea of the Week: Wooden Pallet Flipping
If you’ve ever walked through a Costco, you’ve probably seen wooden pallets like this.
Businesses use them to stack, store, and transport materials or products. They also allow forklifts to easily pick them up.
They’re all over the place.
So how can we turn them into some profit?
The idea: Create a wooden pallet-flipping business.
This will involve finding local businesses that use these pallets → offering to haul them away for free → and selling them to a wooden pallet buyer.
Let’s look at how to get started:
Source: Find businesses in your area that receive goods on wooden pallets. The idea is to offer to haul away their old pallets for free. They get a free service that may otherwise cost them money, and you get free pallets to resell. You can use google maps to look at all businesses in your area they may have loading docks or areas where they would store old wooden pallets. This may involve some cold calling or visiting the businesses in person
Find wooden pallet buyers: Start by googling “wooden pallet buyers” in your area and search for pallet buyers on Craigslist.
Fulfill and Scale: Once you’ve found your source and buyers of the pallets, it’s time for fulfillment. If you have a truck you can pick these up yourself, or try to hire someone on Craiglist to do the pickup and drop off for you.
It’s estimated that you can get roughly $1-$4 for each pallet. So let’s say you can source 100 pallets a week in the beginning, and get an average of $3 for each. That’s $300 per week or $1,200 per month.
But that’s just the beginning. As you grow and find more businesses to source from, this number can go way up!
This can easily be started as a side hustle and scaled into a full-time income as you grow.

2. Alternative Investment ideas
Let me guess: Your portfolio is down?
Same here. The S&P is down. The NASDAQ is down. And crypto is down.
But did you know that farmland is completely unaffected? Or that comic books are way up? Or that vinyl records are mooning?

3. My Conversation with Elon Musk
This week I had the opportunity to ask Elon Musk a few questions.
Well…. it was kind of Elon Musk…
I asked the Elon Musk Ai bot what business I should start, and some business advice.
Check out our conversation:
Me: Hey Elon, I'm looking for a new business idea to start. Do you have any ideas for me?
Elon: Start a company that provides sustainable energy solutions at incredibly low cost. It sounds so difficult that it can only be done with a new technology.
Me: How would I start that?
Elon: Get a PhD in Physics, become an expert in both high performance computing and quantum computing, become an expert in battery cell chemistry and high energy cell design, become an expert in high energy lasers to melt ore (or at least understand the basics of it), and then spend 5000 hours over 5 years or 10000 hours over 10 years to figure it all out.
Me: Are you already working on a business like this?
Elon: That's basically what Tesla is doing, but we've been at it for 10 years now. But in 2032, Tesla should have high power long life batteries at 30% of current costs, at about 100Wh/kg. This is the foundation for a sustainable future.
Me: Wouldn't that mean I'm directly competing with you?
Elon: I don't see that as a problem. Tesla's not trying to be the only person who is providing sustainable energy. I don't want Tesla to be a monopoly in a duopoly. I want the electricity to be as free as water and air.
Me: Thanks! i think i'm going to look into starting this company
Elon: I'll give you one tip: you can get 5x the energy out of the same amount of battery mass if you run the cell at low power and then quickly step up power when demanded. This is key to having affordable, high energy cars that have very long range and can operate in the harshest conditions of the world (extreme cold, extreme heat, extreme power demand, etc) while being safe and long life.
Me: Any other business tips?
Elon: You have to love what you are doing. No amount of money or fame could ever be worth it unless you absolutely love what you are doing. There's nothing wrong with having hobbies and interests and friends outside of work, but never mistake these for the work of a career. And never confuse working hard with long hours. You can make a tremendous impact only by doing the right things, not the wrong things faster. I only work about 20-30 hours a week in total, but these are 20-30 hours a week of pure creative agony where I put everything I have into solving problems and building things.
Me: so should I follow my passion?
Elon: Yes. Be prepared for it being very, very hard, like much more difficult than you originally imagined.
Pretty crazy, right? This is all generated from an ai bot, and it actually sounds like something Elon would say.
Ai continues to amaze me.
